Bhopal Gas Tragedy

The incident that shocked the hearts of all the people in the world and created huge destruiction was the Bhopal gas tragedy. It is said that Greed is the root of all evils and actually this was also the cause of the  Bhopal gas tragedy. The affect of the disaster would exist so far the earth exists.

The factory responsible for the disaster was established in 1969 named UNION CARBIDE INDIA LIMITED. The people of bhopal was very happy from that establishment because it had created a large number of employments. But they did not know that this factory will  be the cause of the destruction of bhopal.

The company manufactures pesticides . The company maufactures MIC (methyl isocynate) for the production of pesticides. MIC is one of the most dangerous chemical known to man. The safety equipments were very bad in order to earn profits . The  Union carbide factory always kept a stock of 42 tons of MIC . It was like a explosive. MIC  reacts violently with water.

The incident happened on  2nd Dec,1984. About 12,O clock midnight , randomly the people of bhopal started  hawking and people was suffocating. There was many more severe conditions of the people .

Then the people came to know that  MIC had leaked from a factory and the MIC had spread in the circle of 8kms.Some people felt in water bodies to be relaxed from the chemical but they don,t know that the chemical had made all the water bodies acidic and they all lost their life.

What happened in the Union Carbide

At 12,O clock midnight (dec,2,1984)  due to  problem in the maintenance  , water started  flowing in the Tank ( named T 610) of MIC in place of its actual path. A dangerous pressure started to  develop and a chemical reaction  took place in the tank  and due to the reaction  the pressure incresed so much that the tank exploded and all the MIC spread in the air. This caused the terrific disaster.

Consequences 

About thousands of people die within a day. More than 5,20000 people came in contact with the chemical that affected them adversely

 The disaster  created gene disorder 

About 3000 people die and man y suffered with neurological disorders etc..
